Bio:

From an early age, Jacob de Latimer IV had a fascination with things he shouldn’t have. Asking why the people hanging out under the bridge were always furrier than humans should be and why certain business associates of his father, Trey de Latimer, only appeared at the house at night and never seemed to age, his questions were always brushed off by his parents in simplistic explanations that never added up (“they’re just naturally like that and don’t shave much” and “they work all day and have no time for deals until nightfall”). For all of his curiosity, he was sent away to boarding school overseas. Needless to say, life with family was mostly non-existant.

After spending most of his childhood in the UK, reading about an Anglican organization run by a cross-dressing knight that dealt in the supernatural using even more tortured explanations, he became serious about the pursuit and built a library about the occult and other strange happenings. Given current circumstances, some things he wrote off as complete nonsense may be the closest ones to the truth.

Jacob seriously disappointed his father by deciding to pursue a PhD in History instead of taking over the family business. He had just finished his thesis (on the truths behind myths throughout time) and took his father’s advice to go see a jazz band at the club instead of beginning preparations for his defense; his father wanted him seen by the elites (and maybe start reconsidering his choice to stay out of the family business). He’d invited a friend, but she decided at the last moment to skip out. Probably for the best, that.

At that point, the story really began…
